- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I saw Dr. Gray today for the first time. My 10 y/o chihuahua seemed to be having back pain, that didn't respond to half a baby aspirin. I had been using vaccine clinics and didn't have a regular vet for him. I had called around to other vet offices because I was between jobs and on a tight budget and they were able to give me the estimated office visit price and the price of x-rays, if needed, over the phone, which was a lower price than the other offices I had called that would disclose price. They were also able to get us in on a busy Friday, when I called at noon, and the doctor was going to be out of town the following week for the 4th of July. The staff were all very friendly, kind and considerate, and knowledgeable. They stated they could do x-rays, if I really wanted them, but the doctor may be able to diagnose by exam alone. Dr. Gray was very kind, thorough, gentle, patient and competent with my sweet, but frightened little dog, who transforms into a screaming, snarling little rascal even while just getting his temperature taken or his nails clipped! She offered, but didn't recommend x-rays and lab work yet, unless his condition doesn't improve or worsens, because it would be stressful for him because he would try to fight everything they did. He received a long lasting steroid shot to reduce inflammation (she disclosed the small risk of it inducing diabetes, due to his age, but that he was at less risk because he is not at all overweight). She recommended rest, had his nails clipped, examined a skin rash and made recommendations on diet changes to avoid allergens, all for less than a typical office visit! I am so grateful that they provided great care at a very reasonable price, so I could afford to help my little guy feel better even at a time when money is tight.
